Just Closed Luxury Townhome in New Buffalo

I just closed yesterday on the sale of this Luxury Townhome in the heart of New Buffalo. This property was bank owned, and the deal took 5+ months from contract to closing! This process was filled with delays, and ups and downs. I am happy for my buyer, as they found the property they wanted, and had the perseverance to stay with the process through closing. It seems to me that the banks caused the housing problem with loose lending practices, and are now making it worse by dragging their heals on unloading REO's. If you plan to pursue a bank owned property, patience is a must! Some deals can be found, but in our area there are not many foreclosures, and buyers are competitively bidding for those that do come on.
January was a busy month in Harbor Country real estate. This is typically the quiet season, but 2012 has started quickly. I have 2 of the homes featured in my blog under contract, and am currently negotiating on a 3rd. Please contact me if you need additional information, or are ready to take a look around.
